The source of the flip-cap lettering was voted "Worst Band" by its hometown fanzine in 1982 and "Best New Band" the year after — the fastest redemption arc in hardcore, achieved by changing nothing. Their breakout single, a three-minute breakdown about nobody listening, became one of the first hardcore videos in heavy rotation on music television; their skate anthem was shot for a skateboard movie that never happened. Purrssed documents the feline equivalent: the state that arrives at 2 a.m. without warning — ears flat, eyes black, a sideways gallop down the hallway and up furniture that physics had opinions about. The skull on the emblem is not a threat. It is a diagnosis. All your cat ever wanted was a saucer of milk, and you called it crazy.
